Faleena made all to take the feature race at Bellewstown this evening, the Fast Shipping Ireland 3yo Handicap, for her trainer Pat Flynn with Danny Grant in the saddle.

The grey daughter of Verglas was sent off at 6/1 despite winning on her last start at Navan last month.

Having made all the early running she was ridden and kept on well from over a furlong out to record a two length success from the John McConnell trained Phebes Wish in second at 9/1. Nini Ok was a further nose back in third at 14/1 for John Murphy with Shane Foley in the saddle. Bogini who was bidding to quickly follow up on her victory at Leopardstown last evening, was sent off the 2/1 favourite (opened 13/8) for the five furlong contest but she disappointed and finished seventh.

Winning rider Danny Grant said afterwards: "Over the last month she has improved unbelievably.

"She loved that ground and she has tonnes of speed and that’s how she kills them off.”

Winning owner Bridie Cooney is from Co Roscommon and she has had plenty of runners in the past including winners Jeangeorges and Shesthebiscuit.
