Gambled Sarahmae (7/1 — 7/2f) resumed winning ways today, as the in-foal Denis Hogan-trained filly landed Cork’s Ryan's Cleaning Handicap under jockey Joey Sheridan.

Successful three times last year, the four-year-old daughter of Magna Grecia’s rating had fallen from 89 last August to today’s 74 mark following some below par efforts.

In today’s race, Sarahmae improved from mid-field to lead a furlong out, and held on well to score by 1.5 lengths from Fox In Flight .

Regarding the Mary Hogan & Muchael O’Brien-owned winner Sheridan stated “I hadn’t ridden her much at home but Denis had told me that she had a chance here today. I hadn’t ridden her in a race for a while either and she had been missing the break, so he told me to get her out of the stalls.

“I would actually have won further but she didn’t do a whole lot in front, and that’s just her.

“I think she is in-foal to Blackbeard and they had also mentioned the Rockingham for her as a possibility next.”
