In-foal White looking for a Group 1 win

Dermot Weld's Chinese White will bid to secure an elusive first Group One success before being retired to the paddocks later this year.

The Lady O'Reilly-owned daughter of Dalakhani has been successful in Group Three and Group Two company but a win at the highest level is still missing from her CV.

She was a hugely impressive winner of a Listed prize at Gowran Park on her reappearance last week and the owner's racing manager, James Kelly, believes she is in the form of her life at present.

"We were delighted to see her win the other day and she scanned in foal to Cape Cross a couple of weeks ago," said Kelly.

"The plan now would be for her to go to the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on May 23 and then on to the Pretty Polly Stakes on June 26.

"Hopefully then she'll be retired and she certainly deserves to win a Group One, so we have our fingers crossed she can do it.

"We also gave her an entry in the Prix d'Ispahan in Longchamp on May 23, but that is just in case the ground in the Curragh is too firm for her.

"I think she's probably better than ever this year as she's a bigger and stronger filly.

"Hopefully she can get that Group One and then get a filly out of her and race her as well."
