Paddy Meany saddled his second winner in the space of 24 hours as Enough Is Enough recorded a shock victory in the Family Fun Day June 19th Apprentice Handicap at Gowran Park.

The locally based trainer was on the mark with Fu’s Island at Kilbeggan yesterday, and followed up here with a 25/1 success in this seven furlongs event.

Robbie Dolan (20), from Kildare town and based with Curragh trainer Adrian Keatley, recorded his fourth winner when bringing the nine-year-old mare with a sweeping run down the stands’ side.

She finished to such effect that she had two and a quarter lengths to spare over Doonard Prince at the line.

The field were spread across the track with Rateel a head back in third, and Full Shilling the same distance further adrift in fourth.

Enough Is Enough gained her only previous win also at this venue just under 12 months ago but was mainly disappointing since.

Meany said, “It was a wide open race and she has speed when she decides to use it. She was badly drawn, and Robbie gave her a good ride.”
