Inis Meain back on the flat He is listed as having a hurdle rating of 117 and tomorrow at Tipperary Inis Meain competes in the TipperaryRaces.ie Handicap over an extended mile and a half off a mark of just 47. Conor Hoban will claim 5Ibs off Denis Hogan's charge, not seen in action since finishing down the field in a handicap hurdle at Aintree in April. Inis Meain was an impressive winner of a maiden hurdle at Thurles back in February, despite making a bad blunder two out that day. Hogan had commented on the Bernstein gelding in an Irish Field stable tour the same month: "He is a smart horse. "He was with Jim Bolger as a three-year-old and he will mix it for the summer. He has plenty of pace – he should have no trouble winning a flat handicap. I'd say that he will improve for better ground. He is a nice horse and one that we've always liked." The market should prove a good guide as to what is expected of the handicap debutante on his return to the fray tomorrow. (EM)
