The Denis Hogan trained Inis Meain was described as a ‘likely’ runner for Monday’s Listed Ardilaun Hotel Oyster Stakes at Galway.

‘There is rain forecast and at the minute the plan is to run,’ stated Hogan.

‘He is in very good form and we know that he likes it around there. I wouldn’t like to see quick ground, but if they get the rain that is forecast, the plan is that he’ll run,’ he added.

Recent Galway Hurdle winner Missunited who finished behind Inis Meain when the pair clashed on the flat at Limerick in May, is almost certain to line up in Monday’s contest and her trainer Michael Winter said,’ she is in the form of her life and ground permitting, she will run.’

Winters also had an update on Rebel Fitz who holds an engagement in Tuesday’s Deacy Gilligan Novice Chase and he reported:’ he is in great form and he looks well-in. Like the mare, he wouldn’t run if the ground was quick, but if the rain arrives, he will run.’

Galway will host the final of The West Awake Hurdle Series on Tuesday and seventeen horses have been entered for the contest which is sponsored by Easyfix Rubber Products.

Indevan, who has won his last three outings over hurdles, is Willie Mullins’ sole entry, while Noel Meade could be represented by Benemeade.
