The Ladbrokes Ireland Beginners Chase gets proceedings under way and Toubaloo, who finished a head second to Like It A Lot at Thurles, lines up in the two-mile-two-furlong heat. The Charles Byrnes-trained Lord Adare came to grief on his chasing bow but this bumper and hurdles winner could easily right the record here. Hurdles and point-to-point winner Big Kern should also be noted as well as Posh Frock and the Willie Mullins-trained Upazo, who was placed at Grade One level over hurdles last season. Mullins fields French Flat race winner Whiteout in the Shantou At Burgage Stud Maiden Hurdle, a race which has also drawn the Dermot Weld-trained Zafayan. Rathpatrick will try to follow up on his recent Fairyhouse win in the Live Music After Racing Handicap Hurdle, in which the likes of Shuilamach, Dantes Firth and Horendus Hulabaloo also feature. Mullins has a likely type in Kate Appleby Shoes in the closing EBF Ronan Lawlor Memorial Mares Flat Race. Sharon could be an interesting contender in this event as the six-year-old's dam is a half-sister to Thisthatandtother and Carlingford Lough and a half-sibling to the classy The Tother One.
