Inthenickoftime cruises home under Torrens Ridden by Simon Torrens and carrying the colours of J P McManus, Inthenickoftime (85/40 fav) was a facile winner of the Mongey Communications Handicap Chase at Galway. A hurdles winner at Wexford last year and placed on his three previous starts over fences, the grey son of Gleneagles travelled well behind the leaders and led after the last before coasting home to beat Vaureal by five and a half lengths. Winning trainer Enda Bolger said: "That was due as he was unlucky one day at Roscommon when he slipped into a hurdle and finding the right trip for him was the problem. Two miles was too short and three was too far, but this race popped up and he was in good form. "He is in again in a handicap hurdle at Tramore on Thursday so we'll see how he is but he will probably run, before the ground gets heavy. He is a nice horse for next summer."
