In-form Inver Bay took out the final race at Roscommon this year - the Thank You For Your Support Handicap over an extended mile-and-a-half.

She couldn't be called an obvious winner when she lost her place and was niggled along in rear of mid-division approaching the straight.

However, she responded for pressure and made good headway at the '2' pole.

Robbie Colgan soon switched her out and she improved to lead racing to the final furlong. She was driven out to score by a length and three-quarters at 11/2 (having been much bigger in the morning) from Rio Doce (80/1). Acanto (12/1) and Anightaway (11/2) completed the placings in third and fourth respectively.

Aidan Howard said: “We were hopeful coming here, she won her little handicap hurdle here and she handles the ground. She loves Roscommon obviously and she did it nicely.

“I'd say she had a little turn of foot over the others. She won it well and I'm delighted for the owners, they are good friends of mine.

“Alannah and the lads in the yard have done a mighty job with her.”

She landed a handicap hurdle at this track at the end of September.
