Irish 1,000 Guineas on Agartha's agenda Joseph O'Brien has pinpointed the Irish 1,000 Guineas for Agartha after her runner-up spot behind Homeless Songs in the Group 3 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown yesterday. The daughter of Caravaggio gave 3lb to the field and attempted to make all under Declan McDonogh before giving best by a length to the flying winner. “It was a great run from Agartha with the penalty," the trainer said. “The Irish Guineas is probably her plan, whether we run once before or go straight there we'll see.” Agartha won twice during her juvenile campaign - a Group 3 at Leopardstown and a Group 2 in the Curragh - and was also runner-up in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at Headquarters. O'Brien was also pleased with Buckaroo's seasonal reappearance in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown. The Qatar Racing-owned colt was pipped by a short head after a final-furlong battle with Piz Badile with the pair nicely clear of the remainder. “It was a great run, the race just didn't set up perfectly for him but it was a great run and he's a nice horse going forward," he said. “He just got shuffled back when the horses came around him, I don't think it was anyone's fault the race just didn't set up great for him. “I think he'll come back here (Leopardstown).” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
