Irish Derby a possible target for Highland Reel The Coral-Eclipse and the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby are two options under consideration for Highland Reel following his fine effort at Chantilly last weekend. Aidan O'Brien's colt disappointed when favourite for the French 2000 Guineas in early May, but fared much better on his return to France for the Prix du Jockey Club, filling the runner-up spot behind the exciting New Bay. The three-year-old could now return to home soil for a tilt at the Irish Derby on June 27, or take on his elders in the Eclipse at Sandown the following week. O'Brien said: "I was talking to Ryan (Moore) after the race and he said he could be an Eclipse horse. "We're thinking the Eclipse or Irish Derby and we'll see what happens with the Epsom horses."
