Rescheduled after last week's truncated card at Cork and pushed out in distance to one mile, three furlongs, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Navigation Stakes produced a good finish at Killarney.

There were four almost in a line racing to the final furlong of the Listed contest with both Manton Bay and Shaihaan finishing off well towards the outer as longtime leader Alphecca and Caught U Sleeping stuck to their task on the inner.

Manton Bay briefly got his head in front inside the final furlong, but was then headed by Shaihaan who finished best to win by three-parts of a length.

Owned by Al Shaqab Racing and trained by Donnacha O'Brien, the winner finished fifth in the Irish Derby and was gelded after filling the same spot in Goodwood's Gordon Stakes.

"He is a big boy and got unbalanced on the bottom bend because of the speed we were going into it,”reported Hayes

“I had to give him a chance, then, to get him organised and I liked the way he put his head down and tried.

"He is very genuine, really enjoyed the ground, the trip wasn't an issue although it was a falsely-run race.

"He is a nice horse and hopefully he'll have a good end to the season."
