Irish Derby target for Wallop

Connections of Noll Wallop are mapping out an ambitious plan for the colt following his impressive victory in the Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial.

The son of High Chaparral trounced the Aidan O'Brien-trained Viscount Nelson by three and a half lengths in Sunday's Group Three contest over a mile, on only his third career start.

"He did it well, he seems OK this morning and has come out of the race fine," said trainer Tommy Stack's son and assistant, Fozzy on Monday.

"He'll probably run on Irish Guineas weekend, either in the Guineas or the Gallinule Stakes, then on to the Irish Derby. That's the most likely scenario with him."

Mister Carter gave the Stack team a double on the day when making a winning debut in the mile-and-a-quarter maiden.

"He's been improving away the whole time," Stack went on.

"We might enter him in the Sandown Classic Trial and see what turns up in it or we might just keep him in a winners' race at Gowran a couple of weeks later. It will be one or the other."
