Irish National On Juveigneur Agenda

Juveigneur is set to tackle the Powers Whiskey Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse rather than the Scottish equivalent.

The 10-year-old is entered for both stayers' contests but trainer Nicky Henderson believes the three-mile-five-furlong trip in Ireland will be more to Juveigneur's liking.

Henderson is also conscious of the fact the Irish event comes early enough to give the option of tackling the Betfred Gold Cup on the closing day of the season as well.

'I would think he will go for the Irish National,' said Henderson.

'We just feel if he went to Ireland, we would still have time to come back for the Betfred.

'The Scottish race is four miles and I'm not sure he's that slow but three and a half in Ireland might suit him better and then we could come back for the Betfred,' he told At The Races.

Juveigneur is as low as 10-1 with William Hill for the Irish National.
