Irish National on the horizon for Alderwood Alderwood is reported to be none the worse after being found to have an irregular heartbeat following a disappointing effort at Wexford last week. Tom Mullins' charge was sent off favourite for a veterans' contest on St Patrick's Day but faded tamely and was pulled up just after halfway. However, the 11-year-old has pleased connections since and the Boylesports Irish Grand National is now the plan. "He had an atrial fibrillation but he was perfect the next day and we don't know what caused it," said Mullins. "He didn't have a great scope and was a little dirty after, but he's been fine since. I think it was only a one-off and he's fine at the moment. "We left him in the Irish National and that would be the plan at the moment. "We've taken him out of Aintree. I thought the handicapper wasn't really fair on him at Cheltenham or Aintree and we didn't have anything up our sleeve going there."
