The Lee Smyth trained Norville was well supported to win the Racing UK Handicap at Ayr this afternoon.

The 9-Y-O, available at odds of 14/1 this morning opened at 11/1 on track before returning at an SP of 15/2, looked in trouble at halfway in the seven furlong event but powered home under Paul Mulrennan to win by 3/4 length from the favourite with stablemate Cheers Buddy a further 1/2 length away in third.

This was Norville's ninth career win and third since joining Smyth.

The ex-Dermot Weld trained Tadaany also landed a punt at the Scottish track when scoring for David O'Meara in the following one mile contest.

Tadaany, a maiden winner at Listowel last year, was supported from 10/1 into 4/1 favourite when recording his first victory since leaving Rosewell House at the end of last season.
