Irish trainers raid Cartmel James Lambe and Gordon Elliott both had a winner on Cartmel's card this afternoon. Lambe sent over Classic Palace, who won on his last start over hurdles at Hexham in June. He contested the opening novice hurdle and was sent off 2/1 joint favourite. Brian Hughes made all and the six-year-old mare hacked up by 12 lengths. Silk Hall represented the Co Tyrone-based handler in the two mile six furlong handicap hurdle but finished seventh. Elliott brought three horses over - Western Home, Romany Ryme and Tempo Mac. Western Home and Romany Ryme both took third in their respective races while Temp Mac (5/2f) landed the lady riders' handicap hurdle by eight lengths with Lisa O'Neill doing the steering.
