Charlie Mullins conjured up a strong finish from Its On The Line (11/2) to nab Ferns Lock in the hunters chase at Down Royal.

Ferns Lock (11/8f) picked up the lead at the 10th fence and jumped well but exertions told on the run-in as Its On The Line took aim and grabbed him by half a length. Wowsham completed the placings 10 lengths further back at 12/1.

The jockey said: "They went for the race maybe three or four out and I said I would wait.

"I have plenty of experience (over fences) - there is a John Thomas McNamara series which is very good for amateur claimers like me."

Trainer Emmet Mullins was leading the horse up.

Paddy Power made Its On The Line 3/1 favourite from 6/1 for the hunters chase at Cheltenham.
