JOCKEY CLUB PROBE TEST CASE

Conditional jockey Tony Coyle could face a Jockey Club inquiry after failing to take a drugs test at Lingfield last Friday.

Irishman Coyle was due to ride Harem Scarem for Lisa Williamson in the two-mile handicap chase when his name was drawn out by officials carrying out a random dope test.

He was due to give a sample but claimed he was unwell, forfeited the mount and left the track.

Jockey Club public relations officer John Maxse said today: 'We are looking into the case.

'It is the first time a jockey has been asked for a sample and hasn`t provided one without a legitimate excuse. It is a serious offence.

'Reports are being compiled and a decision will then be made on what course of action to take.'
