Jack Hobbs suffers stress fracture Jack Hobbs is set to be sidelined until the autumn after he was found to have suffered a stress fracture to his pelvis. The four-year-old was pulled up on his reappearance in the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket last Saturday, with jockey William Buick dismounting him a furlong from home. Trainer John Gosden expects Jack Hobbs to make a full recovery, meaning some of the big end-of-season races remain on the agenda. Gosden said: "Following light exercise, Jack Hobbs appeared uncomfortable. An ultrasonic scan has shown an undisplaced stress fracture of the near side wing of ilium. 'Whilst it is unfortunate the horse has suffered an injury, there is no reason why he won't return to 100 per cent fitness and health later in the year.'
