Jackson prevails in driving finish

Jacksonslady battled gamely to win the day in the www.angloprinters.ie Hurdle at Bellewstown.

Barry Geraghty always had the mare handy in the 2m1f event and she jumped into the lead at the fifth last.

10/11 favourite Inspector Clouseau looked a big threat turning into the straight and the pair battled it out from the penultimate flight.

The duelling duo flashed past the post together and it was the Philip Dempsey-trained mare who got the verdict by the narrowest of margins.

"Barry gave her a great ride as she can be a bit free," said Dempsey afterwards.

"It was the perfect ride as he waited on them and she dug deep. She's a consistent filly.

"I'll look at one of the handicaps in Listowel for her next."
