Jadalee Ruled Out Of Ebor

Jadalee, a 14-1 chance with the sponsors for the totesport Ebor, will miss the big handicap at York on Wednesday week.

Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum's Desert Prince colt is also entered in the Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes on the Knavesmire the day before the Ebor, but he could run at Newbury this weekend instead.

'I've entered him in the Geoffrey Freer and we'll consider the race. I'll look at it and talk to the owner,' trainer Marcus Tregoning said.

'I don't think he'll be going to York ? I'm pretty sure not. The Ebor is out - it's either the Geoffrey Freer or the March Stakes at Goodwood.'

Jadalee was a strong-finishing second to Ladbrokes St Leger favourite Sixties Icon, who is also entered in the Sportsman Newspaper Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury on Saturday, in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood last time.

'He's in great form,' Tregoning continued. 'I'm very pleased with him, especially since his race, he's thriving so he's ready to go one better now.

'He'll improve as he gets older and I think he'll make a Leger horse, that's the ultimate plan.'

Jadalee is a top-priced 20-1 shot for the St Leger at York on September 9 while Sixties Icon is a 4-1 chance.
