Sent off the outsider of the five strong field at 12/1, Jaliyah led home her rivals in the SIS Supporting Irish Racing Race.

Reversing Dundalk form with stable companion Carolina Jetstream the successful daughter of Mehmas was recording her second win at Cork.

Settled in rear by Wayne Lordan, the Giselle De Aguiar & AMO Racing-owned victor made progress on the inner early in the straight, as the field edged towards the nearside rail.

Ridden and taking over from her aforementioned stablemate from the furlong pole, she needed to be kept up to her work in the closing stages to hold off the effort of Emit by a neck.

Returned the 9/4 joint-favourites, Carolina Jetstream and Kibris finished fourth and last respectively.

"Adrian and Robson (Aguiar) always felt she was a filly with Stakes potential and has shown that there today by beating some nice types and her stablemate," Ryan McElligott, representing AMO Racing, said.

"The logical step now is to look at a Stakes race and there is the Naas Listed Oaks Trial for her next on May 10th. She is also in the German 1,000 Guineas but that is coming back to a mile so maybe Naas would be the logical race.

"Billy (Lee) said Carolina Jetstream just struggled on the ground. She had done her winning at Dundalk and had largely been racing on a sound surface so we found out today that we need to avoid soft with her."
