Janes Harbour drew clear after the last flight in the Auray Assessors Fillies Maiden Hurdle at Ballinrobe to post a decisive victory for Joseph O'Brien and JP McManus. Radar Ahead still had a scent of victory in her nostrils in second approaching the last, however, Janes Harbour got away from it well and scooted away round the home bend.

Mark Walsh steered the 8/11 favourite home by 10 lengths from the 9/2 runner-up. Atlantic City was another length and a-half away in third at 7/2.

Janes Harbour got off the mark at the seventh time of asking over flights.

Walsh said: “They went a proper gallop, it was proper good jumping ground, and everything went to plan.

“She had all the experience in the world, so she wasn’t winning out of turn.

“The plan was to go out and make it, but if something wanted to go quicker to let them on.

“The horse of John McConnell’s (Galician Girl) went a right gallop, so I was happy enough with the lead as well.

“That horse couldn’t take me any further, so I just let the bit up in her mouth and let her travel where she was happy.

“She hasn’t been the strongest finisher in the world, but a weaker race today was a big help to her.

“It’s proper good ground and she liked that.”
