Janiak Happy With Target's Newmarket Workout Australian sprint star Takeover Target pleased trainer Joe Janiak as he worked at Newmarket ahead of next week's Darley July Cup.The seven-year-old gelding won the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and Janiak already has his eye on the six-furlong prize after putting his charge through a thorough preparation on the July course.Janiak had Takeover Target walk around the parade ring at the course, before saddling him and giving the leg up to his regular jockey Jay Ford. The foreign raider exercised in splendid isolation on the July course, bowling along nicely to leave connections more than happy.Janiak reported: 'He did a three-quarter speed over six furlongs just to get the hang of the joint.'He is a well-balanced horse and always works on his own and he seemed to handle the track well enough.'It's a testing last furlong but he has won over seven furlongs in Sydney and should stay the trip in the July Cup.'He is such a good doer and needs the work. We will gallop him on Monday and Tuesday just to top him up.'? PA Sport
