Java Wood (16/1) registered a second success of the year today, landing Gowran's Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap for trainer Kevin Smith, jockey Wesley Joyce and owner Peadar Kelly.

The six-year-old was the opening leg of a Limerick double for trainer Smith in June and today bagged a third career success. The keen-goer made headway on the stands' side in the home straight and eventually recorded a length success over Majestic King .

Jockey Joyce, with his 12th win this season, reported “We were drawn badly and he's a horse who can run keen. The plan was to jump and sit in fifth or sixth, to get cover and get him to relax. I tried to hold on to him as long as I could and when I gave him a kick, he picked up well and ran to the line."
