"She was very green on her debut but had a lovely run the second day," reasoned trainer Peter Fahey (1st 2yo winner) after watching his Jenniechild (8s into 6s) narrowly shade the verdict under Colin Keane in the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden (Plus 10) at the Curragh.

"More than likely that will be it for the season. It's great for Lucy (Lynch, owner) who bred her and also raced the dam," further explained the Monasterevin operator.

Jenniechild got the better of a duel with Piazzini inside the final furlong of this sprint, to come out on top at the line by a head.

There was money about for Kabaw but she could do no better than eighth, whilst the favourite Up Up And Away was fifth.

The new starting stalls at headquarters worked well on their introduction.

The Stewards interviewed Adrian O'Shea, rider of Diamond Avalanche concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles.

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 211(a) in that he had failed to keep his mount straight until reaching the marker poles.

Having considered his previous good record in this regard, the Stewards cautioned him.
