Jet Streaming pulled away in fine style to run out a convincing winner of the Hamsandwich Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown.

Danny Sheehy tracked the leaders on the 4/1 shot and he produced his mount to challenge Nutcracker Suite just inside the final furlong.

The Adrian Keatley-trained filly soon got on top and pulled away from her challengers. Sheehy was easing down at the line to record a four-length victory. 3/1 favourite Noble Intention fared best of the rest.

The winner had been in the money in three maidens this spring and was making her handicap debut this evening.

“She’s straight forward and has a touch of class. The more time she gets the better she’ll get,” said Keatley.

“It wasn’t easy for her to step into handicap company today but she was on a nice enough mark to think she could do it.

“I have big plans for her but whether it will be this year or not I don’t know. She was on her toes before the race and was green enough but a trip will suit her in time. We will gradually step her up from a mile to a mile and a half.

“She has a couple of good entries but whether we step her up to that straight away or not I’m not sure.”

The winner holds and entry in the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh on Irish Oaks weekend.
