Jetara quickened up in impressive fashion to make a winning racecourse debut in the Jetaway.ie irish EBF Mares INH Flat Race at Fairyhouse.

The Jessica Harrington trained four-year-old showed a real turn of foot to nab Walk In The Brise close home.

It was a performance that will have connections dreaming of bigger targets as the year progresses.

Walk In The Brise looked to face her strongest challenge from stablemate Cnoc Na Si who travelled easily into the straight.

However, the latter mare could find no extra and just as Walk In The Brise looked set for victory, Jetara swept by with a serious turn of pace.

“That was a bit unexpected. She's bred in the purple and we'd done as much as we could with her at home, she was ready to just have a run today,” said Kate Harrington.

“She won like a smart filly. She's a big lady, I'll let mum and Gerry decide, but I wouldn't imagine we'll go to Punchestown.

“She's a lovely filly and it's great for Gerry to have her as he sold all the mares two years ago. He has her and two others. It's great he has another good one.”
