Faugheen will face another former champion in the Unibet Morgiana Hurdle on Sunday with Jezki and fellow JP McManus-owned runner Campeador confirmed as definite starters.

Punchestown has the honour of staging the first Grade One race of its type for the best hurdlers over two miles and racegoers are in for a treat.

Willie Mullins has been aiming Faugheen at the contest for some time, in what will be his first race for well over 600 days with Nichols Canyon, Yorkhill and Vroum Vroum Mag also in contention.

Jessica Harrington's Jezki, now a nine-year-old, won the Champion Hurdle in 2014 but was only fourth behind Faugheen a year later. A returned to winning form in a Grade Three at Tipperary in early October.

Gordon Elliott's Campeador is taking a steep rise in grade after winning at Punchestown last time out. Previously he had fallen twice with big races at his mercy.

"They'll both run," said McManus' racing manager Frank Berry.
