Jolly Roger bred by Paget Bloodstock in County Tipperary, bids for his sixth win on the spin in the 7.00, the Primary Fluid Power Handicap Hurdle at Aintree this evening.

This five-year-old cost 110,000 guineas as a yearling but he went through the ring again for the much more modest price of £1,500 at Doncaster in April 2010.

He has eight wins to his name now, one on the flat for Neville Bycroft, a hurdle for John Flint and a chase for Evan Williams.

However he has really hit top gear since joining Tony Carroll and he went on a five race winning streak on May 13th, the quintet being completed at Hereford last evening with a thirteen length romp.

Lee Edwards is due to take the ride on the Oratorio gelding again tonight at Aintree and he is a short-price to bring up the six-timer in a two mile one furlong event. (EM)
