Joseph & Joey double up with new recruit Eleanor Shelby Successful in the nursery with Snapequus, Joseph O’Brien completed a Dundalk double when new recruit Eleanor Shelby (friendless in the betting at 22/1) came from well off the pace to win the BAR 1 Betting 'Best Odds Guaranteed Overnight' Maiden over seven furlongs. Formerly trained by Brian Meehan and a half-sister to his French 2,000 Guineas runner-up Isaac Shelby, the Go Racing-owned filly was pushed along towards rear entering the straight and was only sixth a furlong out. She was strongest in the closing stages, though, and saw off a pair in the Michael Tabor silks, Purely and Near Perfection, by a neck and the same. It was also Joey Sheridan’s second victory of the evening and he reflected "I was impressed by her being drawn that wide, but we went a ferocious gallop. I didn't plan on being that far back. She actually broke quite well, but they were going so hard I wouldn't have been able to be any handier anyway, so I just gave her a chance. "She came home well and her last furlong was her best furlong. She would have no bother getting a mile. "From a furlong down, she was rocking for me. She had a very good attitude, I liked her. "Hopefully, she will get a bit of black-type." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
