There is plenty of interest for Irish jump racing fans this afternoon with a seven-race card at Sligo plus 19 runners travelling over to the opening session of the showcase meeting at Cheltenham.

Willie Mullins has strong claims with both his representatives at Sligo as Paul Townend makes the journey northwest for just one ride aboard Mahon Falls in the opening fillies maiden hurdle at 2pm, while David Doyle takes the mount on Are You Around in the amateur riders maiden hurdle at 3.45.

The going at Sligo is currently described as yielding, good to yielding in places, following 8mm of rain.

The forecast is for further light showers with the possibility of another 4mm of rain.

Meanwhile at Cheltenham, recent Punchestown winner King Of Kingsfield will bid to record his fourth victory over fences for Gordon Elliott this season in the novice chase (1.50), while the Henry de Bromhead-trained Jasko Des Dames is another Irish raider likely to go off favourite in the handicap chase at 3.35.

The going is currently good to soft with showers possible this afternoon (1-2mm).
