The McHale Fusion Vario Handicap Hurdle saw a Wexford success in Mayo when Paul Nolan and Johnny 'Wango' Moore combined to land the spoils in Ballinrobe's fourth event with Just Likeold Times (7s into 9/2).

Just Likeold Times chased the leaders and he got to the front approaching two out where he made a slight mistake. The son of Zerpour was ridden to soon assert and he kept on well from before last where he made another slight mistake. The eight-year-old had a reduced advantage close home but held Whispering Hope by a length and a half.

"I thought the four pound he got at Kilbeggan had sort of put an anchor on him. That day he looked like he should have won but when I looked back at the race Davy Russell (on Bye Bye O Bye) would have been a very unlucky loser," acknowledged Nolan.

He added: "That horse has won two since and the Willie Codd's horse (Tellthemnuttin) who beat him the last day has won since, but was later disqualified. They went so fast today I thought they were going to finish a circuit too soon!"

Unfortunately favourite Vinnies Time pulled up injured before the fourth last. He was a fatality.

A. Ring, rider of Benahavis trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having never travelled during this race.
