Juvenile hurdle looks good at Clonmel

At present the Hospice Go Racing 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle, the opener at Clonmel on Sunday, would be favourite to get racing on the turf back in action in Ireland and the extended two miler has the appearance of a potentially interesting heat.

Knight Eagle, third in the Leopardstown November Handicap, could have his first start for Eoin Doyle. He is rated 97 on the level, he won twice when with Kevin Prendergast and he is by Night Shift, who made his mark in the National Hunt game principally through Well Chief.

Mister Carter is rated just five pounds below Knight Eagle on the flat and he could represent Tommy Stack. He was in the Grade 3 at Fairyhouse last Sunday which was called-off and the stable has had a good winner in this sphere lately with Magen's Star. Mister Carter has the size for this game and he cost 110,000 guineas as a yearling.

Wealdmore Wave could be in-form Dessie Hughes' runner here. He has a flat mark of 82. Meanwhile Ember Jack would bring strong hurdling form into this contest as he was second to the impressive Toner D'Oudairies at Down Royal last time.
