KADOUN FOR SUPREME

Kadoun put himself in line for a crack at the Gerrard Supreme Novices` Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when winning the #25,000 Juvenile Hurdle at Down Royal today.

Kadoun, trained by Michael O`Brien, took up the running two hurdles from home to beat Hill Port by three lengths in the Grade Three contest with 11-10 favourite Rostropovich staying on late to finish third.

O`Brien said: 'Kadoun is in the Supreme Novices` as well as the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

'But Pittsburgh Phil is my horse for the Triumph and Kadoun could go for the Supreme.

'It depends on how he runs next time out, which will probably be in the Red Mills Hurdle at Gowran Park next month.

'Like most of my horses, Kadoun missed a week`s work because of the frost. That`s why Knife Edge didn`t run at Leopardstown last Sunday.'

Mouse Morris, trainer of Rostropovich who had beaten Kadoun at Naas earlier this month said: 'He is still going for the SunAlliance Novices` Hurdle. The track was a bit sharp for him today and he will run again at Leopardstown in the Cashmans Four-Year-Olds Hurdle.'
