KENNY REROUTED TO NEWCASTLE Young Kenny misses his bid to repeat last year`s win in the Singer & Friedlander National Trial at Uttoxeter after suffering a minor setback. The Peter Beaumont-trained chaser, 16-1 co-favourite for the Martell Grand National with William Hill, has 'tweaked a muscle' and was not among the 12 declarations made this morning for tomorrow`s #65,000 contest. However, the injury is not serious and the 10-year-old is set to reappear in tomorrow fortnight`s Tote Northern National at Newcastle - a race in which he unseated Brian Storey at the first fence when 9-4 favourite two years ago.Beaumont said: 'He has just tweaked a muscle and he was just not 100 per cent this morning - it`s nothing sinister.'He will go for what used to be the Eider Chase at Newcastle in a fortnight.'Coral Eurobet Welsh National winner Jocks Cross now heads the weights for the three-and-a-half mile Singer & Friedlander. His rivals include Martin Pipe`s smart novice Take Control, the Mark Pitman-trained Smarty and 1999 winner Him Of Praise.
