The quicker ground tonight played to the strengths of Kadra as she bounced back to form in the seven-furlong handicap at Leopardstown.

Shane Foley tracked the leaders on the Aga Khan filly before coming with a strong run to lead inside the final furlong.

The Michael Halford-trained three-year-old went on to record a length-and-a-quarter success over Texas Rock

The 4/1 winner had been beaten favourite on her last visit to the course when fifth of six runners on soft ground last month.

“It was definitely just the ground last time. She had a lovely run in Gowran and we fancied her last time but it was just too slow for her. She's a real top of the ground filly and enjoyed that,” said Foley.

“They didn't go that fast and she jumped and travelled. I asked her to go about her business inside the final furlong and she picked up well.

“She's straight-forward but can be a bit hard on herself at home. I got a bit of cover today and she probably did a bit much last time. Given those conditions I think she can step up again.”
