Kalderon to undergo operation

Tom Hogan's Kalderon is to undergo surgery on a fractured ulna today, following his fall in the Grade 3 Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown yesterday.

Tom Hogan, trainer of the eight year old gelding, said: "Kalderon was taken to Troytown Veterinary Hospital in Kildare and will be operated on tomorrow.

"He will have a plate inserted in the bone he has broken and I understand this type of operation has been successful in the past. The horse is comfortable and under the care of Michael Sadler. Things are looking a lot better than they were yesterday."
