Kappa Jy Pyke makes it a treble for Townend and Mullins Kappa Jy Pyke, the even-money favourite, was left clear at the last to put the seal on a Punchestown treble for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend. As racecourse commentator Jerry Hannon alluded to, he wasn't home yet as he approached the last from a closing Don'tstopthemusic, however, the latter took a plunging fall and Kappa Jy Pyke was left in glorious isolation to win by 17 lengths. Brave Brigadier was a remote second at 16/1 and he was just a neck up on Bowensonfire (8/1). Mullins and Townend took the two graded races on the card through Lecky Watson and Salvator Mundi. Townend said:- “It was a nice performance. He built on Cork (runner-up) well in every sense, jumping wise and the freshness was gone out of him with the benefit of the run. “I thought he quickened up smartly down the straight. I was actually quite taken with him. “I know Mark’s horse (McDonagh on Monslatt) got free and went on, but he did everything right - he didn’t want to race him and didn’t battle him. I was in control of the race for most of it. “The horse that beat us in Cork (Sky Lord) ran well in the race before (fourth), so the form was there if he built on it and I think he did. “I didn’t know how the horse behind me was going, but I was still picking up and I thought it would take a fair one to go by me.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
