Katchit could return to the Level Reigning Champion Hurdle hero Katchit could return to action on the Flat as Alan King maps out the road to defending his crown next March. The diminutive five-year-old showed all his trademark guts when battling up the Cheltenham hill to win the hurdling title and is now back in training as he prepares for the new campaign. King told At The Races: "He has had a proper summer break and is now back in on the horse-walker. He will soon be cantering and his first main target is the Boylesports International at Cheltenham in December." He added: "Obviously, I would like to get a run into him before then but whether that is going to be on the Flat or over hurdles I haven't decided. "He isn't going to get any bigger now but he has possibly filled out a little bit and he is very well in himself." Triumph Hurdle hero Celestial Halo could prove to be a challenger to Katchit's crown next season, and owner Andy Stewart reports him to be in fine form. "Celestial Halo is back in training and his first race will need to be on a galloping track," Stewart told At The Races. "Something like the "Fighting Fifth" or the International will be the sort of races we'll be looking at. "The Champion Hurdle is on the Tuesday so there should be cut in the ground and that would be the main target."
