The curtain came down on Tramore's August Festival 2022 with a Willie and Patrick Mullins success in the mares' bumper with Katie Tay
This Presenting filly went off 8/13 favourite with a couple of the main protagonists - Champagnesocialist and Princess Sophia - ruled out.
It was One For Lucy who set the pace in this two-mile contest and she still held the initiative racing to the final furlong.
Katie Tay had her in her sights, though, and Patrick Mullins produced her out wide to take over passing the furlong pole.
The favourite was kept honest by the runner-up and had a length and three quarters in hand at the line. This was a marked improvement from One For Lucy in second at 33/1. Lady Of The Vale got up for third at 10/3, beaten three lengths by the winner.
Patrick Mullins said: "Mark Landers got in contact with me and asked me to find them a horse for this racing club. Paul Byrne and Emmet (Mullins) very kindly said they would lease us this mare. They highly recommended her and thought she would do the job, she has and it's brilliant.
"The pressure was on with so many of the club here. I was telling them she was doing nice work and her form in the spring entitled her to win that. She actually ran a bit keen all the way and that was my only worry.
"Her pedigree is all stamina and I probably should have made more use of her really. The horse that was getting away in front ended up finishing second, so she probably did get an easy time of it. It's brilliant to get one on the board for a club like this."
Patrick Mulcahy, representing the club, added: "It was the brainchild of Mark Landers, TJ Ryan and Anthony Daly of the Irish Examiner Hurling Podcast. There is 400 members in the club and we have four horses."
Willie Mullins was the leading trainer at the festival with five winners while Danny Mullins took the honours in the jockeys' standings over the four days, also with five victories.
