Kauto Runs Hinges On Aintree Ground Paul Nicholls will keep an anxious eye on the weather forecast as he prays the ground is not too fast for Kauto Star's scheduled reappearance at Aintree next Sunday. The champion trainer would like to keep the plan the same as last year, when the gelding landed the bonusprint.com Old Roan Chase at the Merseyside track before carrying off the King George and Cheltenham Gold Cups, among other prizes.Kauto Star may well have to give weight to the likes of My Way De Solzen and Monet's Garden in the handicap chase, but Nicholls would like to see a drop of rain in the area first.'He's ready to run, but the ground is a worry,' said Nicholls.'He will run as long as it is safe, but I was looking at the weather forecast and they said it was going to be a dry week.'Everywhere could do with some rain at the moment so we will have to see. The horse is fine and worked very well yesterday.'Nicholls is also worried about the ground at Wetherby for Royal & SunAlliance winner Denman's challenge in the following week's Charlie Hall Chase and may take a look at the West Yorkshire track before making a decision.(C) PA Sport
