The first split of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap at Dundalk went the way of the Michael Browne owned and trained Keepthebestsideout

One of the last runners Browne sent out, The Cola Kid, delivered at Cork towards the end of September, and Keepthebestsideout was here gaining just reward for some consistent efforts.

Adam Farragher did the steering and making the breakthrough at the fourteenth time of asking the Dandy Man filly got the better of Pillar and Jered Maddox by half a length and the same.

Slowly into stride, Keepthebestsideout raced in rear, and she made headway two furlongs out.

Soon ridden the County Tipperary runner improved to dispute the lead a furlong out. Leading inside the final furlong she stayed on well to confirm the win.

“That is the best thrill. I can't describe the feeling, it's just brilliant,” said Browne.

“I love a winner. I just have four horses and I do it for sport. That's brilliant because it's so hard to win.

“She was knocking on the door and she was due that. She'll come back here in ten days time for a similar race.”

The Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Bay Of Skaill (GB), concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were of the opinion that G.F. Carroll was in breach of Rule 211(a) by failing to ride in a straight line from his draw position until reaching the marker poles. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.F. Carroll for 1 raceday.
