The T.J. Nagle trained Khalessi gained an overdue first hurdles win at Limerick today, landing the 4 Of Us Play Live At Limerick Racecourse June 23rd Mares Maiden Hurdle under jockey Danny Mullins.

The 99 rated daughter of Milan had previously won her bumper at Clonmel in June 2016 and today, at the ninth attempt, got off the mark over jumps when rallying gamely on the run-in to beat Fintara by one and a quarter lengths.

Afterwards Nagle stated “she deserved to win one and got a good ride - I thought if she received a good ride she’d win!

“He (the handicapper) can’t overreact to that and she’ll go for a handicap hurdle next.”
