Killeagh Kenirys the men to follow today

Irish-born jockeys look likely to dominate the bumper card at Southwell today with Barry Keniry holding a strong book of rides for bumper specialist Alan Swinbank.

Keniry of course hails from Killeagh in County Cork where his father John "always had horses around the place." He is a brother to jockey Liam who has four rides himself today – three at Lingfield and one at Kempton tonight. A couple of those, Loyal Royal (3.05) and Dancing Welcome (3.35) are featuring prominently in the betting for trainer Milton Bradley.

Back to Barry and he begins at 1.20 at Southwell for Swinbank on First Rock. This horse was bought for €25,000 at Tattersalls (Ireland) in September 2007 and he is a worthy favourite here having shown ability in all four starts.

Half an hour later Barry's longest priced ride from five mounts goes into battle as he is aboard Noble Scholar at 1.50.

He will get the leg-up on three favourites after that – Bivouac at 2.20, Alfie Flits at 2.50 and Priceless Art at 3.20.

Meanwhile Jason Maguire has some good rides at Southwell too, chief among which are Inthesettlement at 12.50 and Flichity at 1.20.
