Killyclogher Rose scores on handicap debut Killyclogher Rose (20/1) scored on handicap debut today, landing Naas’ Colm White Bookmaker Apprentice Handicap for trainer Andy Oliver, jockey Sam Coen and owners Mellon & McBride. By English Derby-winner Masar, the four-year-old filly had previously shown form in three runs last winter series at Dundalk and today arrived from mid-field to lead a furlong out and beat Elusive Duke by three-parts of a length. Coen commented “the plan was to jump, get cover, and switch her off and she picked up well after settling so well. She just had a little look when she hit the front but I was holding them all the way to the line. “I think she’ll step up in trip again as she galloped right out through the line. “Andy (Oliver) told me that they liked her and that she was showing all the right signs at home. The main thing was to get her switched off and to get her to do things right.
