King guides Lanzhou to Tramore success It was a local winner at Tramore for trainer John Flavin as Lanzhou (9/4) made up ground from the back to gain victory in the Ardmore Handicap Hurdle (0-100) for rider Dan King. The five-year-old bumped into the progressive Ina Mina on his latest start in Tramore, but under an ice-cool King ride, he was able to go one better and run out victorious by one and a half lengths, having been settled at the back and making his run before two out. A slight mistake two out could not contain him as he kept on well to secure victory. Speaking after the race, trainer Flavin said: "He is a nice horse. He bumped into one the last day. I'd say Terence's (O'Brien - Ina Mina) was well handicapped. He's still a big, green auld horse. He's learning the whole time. Hopefully he'll win again because that wasn't a great race. It's always nice to have a local winner, keep everyone happy. He'll keep going at the moment because he likes half better ground. He wouldn't want it real deep." (Quotes from John O'Riordan)
