The Kings Baby ended her trainer Moses McCabe’s long wait for a winner at Tramore today, as she herself gained her first win in the Tramore Supporters Club Maiden Hurdle, under jockey Donie McInerney.

The daughter of King’s Theatre was backed from 4/1 generally in the morning in to a 5/2 chance at the off and in the end scored an easy 10 lengths win over Aherlow

Co Wexford based McCabe, whose previous win was with Asitsohappens at Thurles in February 2014, today commented ‘that was a long time coming! She was unlucky the last day and we gave her a break then. We thought she might need the run today but she was fine and she’ll go novice hurdling now and stay in that league.

“It's a long time since I've had a winner, but all the hard work paid off today. She is owned by Mick Kenny from Tinahely, who is a sound owner and a gentleman. Donal (McInerney) gave her a good ride and is a good seven pound claimer."
