Kingside Lady takes Wexford opener The John McConnell-trained Kingside Lady (33/1) was the winner of the Wexford Fillies Maiden Hurdle. The four-year-old daughter of Kingston Hill was an easy winner of a point-to-point before disappointing on her first start under rules in a Bellewstown bumper, but she was much better today over hurdles, jumping particularly well. She was happy to track the Declan Queally-trained Tell The Boys, who unseated rider Kevin Sexton at a crucial stage of the race, but Alex Harvey allowed his mount a breather and she went on again to win by two lengths. Speaking after the race, jockey Alex Harvey said: "She was really disappointing in her bumper. We were shocked, to be honest. She probably wants further in time, but we went a good, even gallop. She jumped great, obviously coming out of winning a point-to-point. I was happy enough to let her roll down the hill. She stays going very well, that's the one thing we know, and I'm delighted."
